Closing the gap

Over 100,000 people are homeless every night. An even greater number are at risk of becoming homeless.

Despite what people imagine, homelessness affects a diverse group of people in a variety of different ways.

People of all walks of life experience homelessness - families, young people, women escaping domestic violence, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people disability or mental illness, people with alcohol and other drug problems. That's what makes this such an important issue.

So when Housing NSW announced an Action Plan to tackle homelessness in NSW, we knew there more we could do to help tackle the issue by supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to find appropriate, affordable and sustainable housing.

As part of the North Coast Accommodation Project (NCAP) that's exactly what we're doing. To date we've assisted more than 1,200 people on the NSW Mid North Coast to access and maintain social and private rental accommodation.
